đánh lô đề online“I want to wish every citizen of St. Tammany a safe and happy Thanksgiving. We know these holidays are going to be different due to COVID-19. Each one of us can play a part in helping to protect the most vulnerable among us through personal responsibility. We can do this with a few simple steps. Please keep COVID-19 protective measures in mind when planning your holiday.
đánh lô đề online“When you celebrate Thanksgiving this year, please continue to wear masks, physically distance, avoid large gatherings — especially gatherings with people you have not been in contact with recently. If you are out in the community wear a mask — especially when inside local businesses and restaurants. As I have said in the past, there are several ways to support our local restaurants and small businesses. Shopping with them is one and helping them to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a mask when you are inside their establishments is another.
“I continue to work to balance the health of our community with the health of our economy, and I ask each and every citizen to continue to work with me to achieve this balance. By protecting ourselves and one other, we can all contribute to the recovery. Please take personal responsibility as we enter into the holidays. Have a safe, healthy, and happy Thanksgiving.”

Statement From St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper on Moving to Phase 3
“Moving to Phase 3 is the right thing to do for us at this time, and we appreciate the Governor’s decision. I want to thank him for his continued leadership and his consideration of my formal request, as well as the resolutions put forth by the St. Tammany Parish Council and the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce, requesting the ability to move forward. I have faith in our citizens that we will continue to take personal responsibility to do what is necessary to slow the spread and simultaneously support our local businesses. As I have said from the start of our emergency response to this pandemic, I want to balance the health of our community with the health of our economy,” Cooper said. “We, as a community, have risen to the call, to take personal responsibility to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the health of our citizens — especially the most vulnerable. We want to begin to resume a sense of normalcy, and to strike the balance for the health of our economy.”

St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper Offers Support for Regional Recovery Phases
St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper has penned a personal letter to Governor John Bel Edwards asking him to consider regional implementation of COVID-19 recovery phases, in lieu of the current statewide implementation model. In addition, Cooper’s letter asks that the Governor make the criteria for any Parish to enter Phase 3 available to Parish leaders state-wide so that each region can base their decisions on phased re-openings using these criteria. This letter supports similar appeals to the Governor by the St. Tammany Parish Council as well as the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce.
đánh lô đề online“As I have said from the start of our emergency response to this pandemic, I want to balance the health of our community with the health of our economy. St. Tammany has risen to the call, as a community, to take personal responsibility to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the health of our citizens — especially the most vulnerable. We want to use this momentum to move into the next phase, to increase capacity in our small businesses and our restaurants, while keeping precautions in place so that our economy can begin to robustly recover. I have faith in our citizens that we will continue to take personal responsibility to do what is necessary to slow the spread and simultaneously support our local businesses. We want to begin to resume a sense of normalcy, and to strike the balance for the health of our economy.”
đánh lô đề onlineCooper stresses that he wants safety protocols — wearing a mask in public, physically distancing, and practicing personal hygiene — to remain in place going forward. According to the Louisiana Department of Health, 90,230 tests have been administered in St. Tammany, with 6,220 total positive cases reported. This is a 6.89% positivity rate.

St. Tammany Parish Government Partners with Business Community and Elected Officials in Mask Ask Campaign. (Read the full press release here)
St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper has enlisted the help of local mayors, leaders in the business community, and local businesses to help him continue to spread the word and provide educational information about the importance of wearing a mask to minimize the spread of COVID-19. In what Cooper calls his Mask Ask campaign, he has partnered with the St. Tammany Corporation and the St. Tammany Chamber to produce a limited number of signs made for local business to display in their businesses. The signs are tools to increase educational awareness on why the Centers for Disease Control recommends masking to slow the spread of COVID-19. The signs are free for pick up to any business wishing to participate. They encourage citizens to take personal responsibility, and to do their parts with catchy phrases like “It’s not much to ask — wear a mask.” Rip Stoltz, President/Owner of SEI-Specialty Enhanced Imaging in Slidell, generously donated production costs as part of the Public awareness effort.
Signs may be picked up at the locations below between the hours of 10 a.m. – 4p.m.
- St. Tammany Parish Government, (985) 898-5243; 21490 Koop Drive Building A
- St. Tammany Corporation, (985) 809-7874, 21489 Koop Drive, Suite 7
- At either location of the St. Tammany Chamber, (985) 892- 3216. In Slidell, 2220 Carey Street, and in Covington, 610 Hollycrest Blvd.
Businesses wishing to have signs delivered, please call (985)809-1411 to arrange.

Ochsner Health Announces Community COVID-19 Testing in St. Tammany Parish
COVINGTON, LA – Ochsner Health has expanded its community COVID-19 testing efforts on the Northshore beginning Thursday, May 21, 2020. Testing at locations across the region will continue through the remainder of the year at locations based on community need. Testing is open to Louisiana residents, age two and older, who wish to know their status. This investment in enhanced community testing is a critical step towards a safe reopening.
“This is an opportunity for any resident over the age of two to be tested,” said Mike Cooper, St. Tammany Parish President. “We appreciate Ochsner standing up this testing site. We appreciate their community partnership always and especially during this pandemic.”
“It is incredibly import that those who want to be tested for COVID-19 have that opportunity. Ochsner is committed to keeping our staff, patients and our community safe, as many in the public go back to work and get closer to a sense of normalcy. Providing Community Testing is just one of the initiatives we are doing to bring that about,” said John Herman, CEO, Ochsner Northshore Region. “Our Clinics and other facilities are open and ready to see patients in a safe, clean environment, where we take their safety and wellbeing as our number one priority.”
Members of the community who wish to be tested should bring an ID and insurance card, if applicable. There are no out-of-pocket costs for those seeking a test and no one will be turned away based on their insurance status. Testing is available at the times listed below or until all test kits have been utilized.
Please find the Northshore testing location details below. Testing schedules are subject to change due to weather.

Statement By Mike Cooper, St. Tammany Parish President Regarding Governor John Bel Edwards' State-Wide Stay at Home Order - March 22, 2020
“Governor John Bel Edwards announced earlier today a state-wide Stay At Home Order effective at 5 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2020. As St. Tammany Parish President, I want to make it clear that I fully support the Governor’s actions, and we will fully comply with his order. I will sign and record a Parish-wide Executive Stay-At-Home Order tomorrow,” said St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper. “I, like Governor Edwards, am asking for maximum compliance from our citizens. We are urging all of our residents to comply, for the safety, health and welfare of our citizens. Our community has already taken aggressive steps to slow the spread of the virus. We are at a critical time in this public health emergency and we need to do more to slow the spread so we can begin to see a flattening of the curve. This will allow our medical resources to keep up with the positive cases we are told to expect. Again, I am asking all St. Tammany residents to be good citizens, cooperate with this order, and make sure your family does the same. We must work together to begin to see a slow of the spread of this virus.”
